🌕 Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Pisces
August 28, 2026 | 12:18 AM EDT | 4°54′ Pisces
On August 28, 2026, the moon will be full in Pisces at 12:18 AM EDT, sitting at 4°54′. This final Full Moon of the summer brings with it a partial lunar eclipse. Full Moons give us a pause point: a chance to look at what has been illuminated along the way and consider what is worth addressing and what we may want to consider leaving behind.
This Full Moon comes directly on the heels of Leo season, where much of our work was concentrated on authenticity, pleasure, and what we truly want from our lives. Leo gave us permission to think from the heart without worrying about all the details. When we get honest with ourselves about our desires, ideas, and feelings, we can uncover realizations, possibilities, and maybe even a few uncomfortable truths. That kind of reflection helps us see where our current lives may have strayed from the ones we imagine for ourselves. Without the details, we are free to play with our dreams and reconnect with what truly brings us joy, separate from the responsibility, pressure, and strings attached to daily life.
As the Sun moves into Virgo, wide-open dreaming begins to meet everyday life again. Summer starts winding down, schedules shift, and our attention turns toward our health, homes, responsibilities, routines, and everything asking for care. Now that we have reestablished our true north, Virgo comes in with the energy and enthusiasm to sort through all of it.
This sign has a beautiful ability to take something large, messy, or complicated and break it down into something more digestible. Instead of asking us to abandon the dream, Virgo helps us notice what is and isn’t working, and what may require change so that what we want has somewhere real to land. Even with Virgo upon us, we still may not feel ready to deal with the future and the present at the same time. Once the Virgo New Moon arrives, we can begin looking at the routines, habits, and resources that actually support what we say we want.
But first, we have some clearing to do.
The Full Moon arrives in Pisces asks us to step away from the logistics for a moment and tend to what is moving beneath them. Our beliefs. Our fears. Our intuition. Our imagination. The things we cannot plan our way through, and the dreams we are not sure how to reach yet.
This Full Moon is also a lunar eclipse, which means we do not have to force the lesson or figure out every little thing on our own. Eclipses have a way of putting us back on track, even when we did not realize how far we had drifted. This one is part of the Virgo/Pisces eclipse story that has been unfolding since 2024, and for the last two years these signs have been showing us the balance between what we practice and what we believe: our routines and our mental health, service and sacrifice, effort and surrender, discernment and faith, what we can improve and what we must learn to accept. As this portal begins to close, we can trust that the work is already completing itself in the background. We have support, even when we cannot see every step yet, and somehow, some way, things have a way of working themselves out in the end. They always do.
Now we are standing in the overlap. Another eclipse story has already begun across Leo and Aquarius. The future is already underway while the past is still finishing.
So, before Virgo nudges us forward, Pisces gives us a chance to clear our minds, return to trust, and remember how to dream. There will be time to decide what requires structure. For now, we can make sure fear isn’t the one making the next decision for us.
♓ The Energy of Pisces: The Dreamer
Pisces is the dreamer and spiritual healer of the zodiac. As the final sign, Pisces carries the energy of all signs that came before it. Deeply connected to our imagination, unconscious mind, intuition, compassion, faith, and the parts of ourselves that cannot always be understood through logic alone. Pisces is the sign of endings, beginnings, and everything that moves between them. In our lives, Pisces is the part of us that still believes something can shift before we know exactly how.
As a mutable water sign, Pisces is emotional, receptive, and deeply adaptable. It knows how to move with what is changing, even before it has the language to explain what is happening. Mutable water does not force a shape. It flows, softens, dissolves, adjusts, and responds. Right now, Pisces is whispering that not everything is meant to be held the same way forever. Some things need room to change form, and some things need to be released completely.
That flexibility can be good medicine for Virgo. Virgo likes information, plans, answers, and things it can actually work with. But when we start believing we need to understand every variable before we can move forward, Pisces asks us to loosen our grip a little. Not everything needs to be figured out right now.
Ruled by Neptune, Pisces has access to imagination, intuition, faith, and everything that exists beyond what we can currently see. Its connection to the 12th house of the unconscious, spirituality, solitude, endings, and release makes this Full Moon an opportunity to notice what may be influencing the plan from underneath it.
Fear. Old beliefs. Other people's expectations. Attachment to one particular outcome. The need for certainty before we trust ourselves.
Virgo will have its chance to figure out what comes next. Pisces is here to make sure we're not building the future around something we're ready to release.
Pisces Mantras: I BELIEVE & I DREAM
Pisces teaches us that faith can carry us beyond what we can prove, predict, or control. I BELIEVE asks us to practice trusting ourselves even when we don't have the entire plan. We can gather information, make thoughtful choices, and still leave room for intuition. Faith does not mean we stop being practical. It means we stop making practicality the only place to begin.
I DREAM asks us to leave room for possibility. Sometimes we become so focused on what is realistic, achievable, or currently available that we unintentionally make our dreams small enough to fit our present circumstances. Pisces is asking us to imagine beyond what already exists.
Believing isn't waiting. Dreaming isn't escaping. Pisces gives us permission to imagine beyond our current circumstances, while Virgo reminds us that we still have to participate in creating what comes next.
Together, these mantras prepare us for the practical work ahead. We don't need to know exactly how everything will happen before we begin cultivating what we want. We need to believe the possibility exists so we can start making choices that support it.
✨ The Vibes
The energy of each sign comes with high vibes and low vibes that we can all identify with at times. Our goal isn't to avoid the lows entirely, but to recognize when we're slipping into them and use the opposing sign to help bring ourselves back into balance.
♓ Pisces High Vibes: Faith, intuition, imagination, empathy, compassion, creativity, adaptability, acceptance, and spiritual connection.
Lean in to: Everything can feel a little softer around the edges under a Pisces Full Moon. We may feel more intuitive and sentimental, with a stronger pull toward music, dreams, water, solitude, and whatever lets us wander around inside ourselves for a while.
Pisces Low Vibes: Escapism, blurred boundaries, victim mentality, avoidance, over-romanticizing situations, absorbing the emotions of others, and confusing fantasy with intuition.
Beware of: The edges can get a little too soft. We may feel extra sensitive, overwhelmed, foggy, nostalgic, easily influenced by other people's moods, or tempted to disappear into fantasy when reality feels like too much. Feelings can masquerade as facts, and rose-colored glasses may suddenly become our favorite accessory.
♍ Virgo High Vibes: Discernment, organization, resourcefulness, adaptability, service, healthy routines, problem solving, preparation, and making complicated things manageable.
Virgo Low Vibes: Perfectionism, overthinking, criticism, anxiety, hyper-focusing on details, excessive preparation, and trying to control every possible outcome.
Find the balance: Let Pisces open Virgo’s perspective to a reality that isn't limited to what we can currently see. Let yourself imagine something different first, then ask one grounded question: What is the next small choice that would support it?
✍️ Journal Prompts / Reflection
As we move through this Pisces Full Moon, take some time to reflect on what the last few years have taught you about effort, control, faith, healing, and the life you are trying to create. You do not need to answer every question at once. Start with the ones that make you pause. Those are usually the ones worth sitting with.
What am I holding onto because of what I hoped it would become instead of accepting what it is?
What self-sabotaging loops am I ready to illuminate and release?
What feels possible to me now that didn't feel possible two years ago?
What can I surrender without surrendering my power?
What am I trying to control that may be asking me to trust myself instead?
What dream have I made smaller because I couldn't see how it would work?
🌊 Working With the Energy
This Full Moon asks us to create a little space between what we have learned and what we decide to do next. Let Pisces help clear what has been sitting underneath before Virgo starts asking what needs tending to in daily life.
🔥 Full Moon Release Ritual
Pisces is a water sign, making a beautiful Full Moon for allowing something to symbolically wash away.
If you want a simple release ritual, write down the fears, limiting beliefs, attachments, or need for control you identified during your reflection. Pay special attention to anything that begins with “I can’t because…” or “I need to know…”
Read through your list one final time and acknowledge what each belief may have been trying to protect you from. Then safely burn or tear the paper.
Place the ashes or pieces in a bowl of water and allow them to soften and dissolve.
Dispose of the water and let what you released leave with it.
🌿 Harness the Energy / Outer Workings
Pisces and Virgo remind us that what’s happening underneath still needs somewhere to go, and our bodies are usually the first place it shows up. Work with water and earth during this Full Moon: cleanse, ground, nourish, rest, and make space for whatever needs to move through you.
Pisces is often associated with the feet and lymphatic system, while Virgo is commonly linked with digestion, the intestines, and the nervous system. For this Full Moon, think gentle care: water, rest, nourishment, slow movement, and anything that helps your body feel like a place you can come back to.
Movement
Choose movement that encourages grounding, release, and the mind-body connection.
Yoga: Child's Pose, Forward Fold, Legs-Up-the-Wall, Butterfly, Seated Forward Fold, and gentle twists.
Energy Work
Pisces has a natural connection to our spiritual and intuitive centers, making this a good time for meditation, Reiki, breathwork, dream work, prayer, or quiet reflection.
Virgo's connection to digestion also makes solar plexus work a useful complement when focusing on discernment, confidence, and trusting your own decisions.
Colors
Pisces: Aqua, teal, lavender, deep green, silver, and watery blues
Virgo: Earthy green, brown, cream, navy, and muted natural tones
Try combining them to create the feeling of water meeting earth: mossy greens, stone, lavender, aqua, and cloudy blues.
Crystals
Pisces: Moonstone, amethyst, aquamarine, labradorite, pearl
Virgo: Moss agate, amazonite, clear quartz, sapphire, peridot
For this Full Moon, choose stones that support intuition, grounding, clarity, faith, and emotional release.
Flowers & Herbs
Pisces: Lily, lilac, lotus, carnation, jasmine
Virgo: Lavender, fennel, peppermint, rosemary, morning glory
Scents Cypress, Sandalwood, Lavender, Jasmine, Clove, Ylang-ylang, Peppermint
Teas White tea, Hibiscus, Chamomile, Peppermint, Ginger
Materials & Elements
Pisces: Water, silk, shells, pearl, reflective surfaces
Virgo: Earth, herbs, natural fibers, wood, stone
Bring the two together however feels natural. A bowl of water beside fresh herbs or flowers, crystals arranged with stones from outside, a bath followed by clean sheets, or simply sitting barefoot near water can embody the balance between Pisces' emotional clearing and Virgo's physical care.
🪐 Cosmic Weather There is a lot happening around this Full Moon, and the sky seems determined to make sure we are paying attention.
☿ Mercury in Virgo: Virgo's ruling planet is at home and sitting close to the Sun during this eclipse. Mercury helps us process what we've learned, connect the dots, and find clarity in all the information we've collected. Something complicated may finally become easier to understand.
♅ Uranus in Gemini: Uranus squares both the Virgo Sun and Mercury around this Full Moon, adding disruption, surprises, new information, and sudden changes in perspective. Sometimes getting back on track requires the plan to change.
♄ Saturn + ♆ Neptune Retrograde in Aries: The planets of structure and dreams are both reviewing the beginnings we've recently made. Neptune asks what we believe is possible. Saturn asks what we're willing to build around that belief. Their retrogrades remind us that a new beginning doesn't have to be completely figured out to be real.
♃ Jupiter in Leo: Jupiter continues expanding the work we've been doing around confidence, creativity, pleasure, authenticity, and believing we deserve to occupy more space in our own lives.
♇ Pluto Retrograde in Aquarius: Pluto continues its slow transformation of our relationship with community, belonging, systems, and the future. As the Virgo/Pisces eclipse chapter winds down, the emerging Leo/Aquarius story asks us to consider who we are becoming within the larger world around us.
🌕 Closing Thoughts
Virgo season will give us plenty of opportunities to create better routines, tend to what needs support, and make practical changes. For now, Pisces reminds us that we don't need every answer before we can believe something is possible.
Over the last two years, the Virgo/Pisces eclipse cycle has taught us about the relationship between effort and surrender, what we practice and what we believe, what we can improve and what we have to accept. As this chapter begins to close, we can take what we've learned with us without taking everything we've carried along the way.
Release what no longer needs your attention. Trust what you've learned. Make room for possibilities you haven't figured out yet.
Believe in what you are becoming. Give yourself permission to dream beyond what your current life has made room for.
As always, take what feels useful and leave the rest. Let this be a reflection point, a seasonal check-in, or simply a reason to notice what you are ready to release before choosing what comes next.
I’m grateful you’ve chosen to spend this Moon Cycle with me. I’ll meet you back here next cycle when we have a new sky to learn from and a new part of ourselves to listen to.
Until then, make room for the things that make life feel good.
